Complexity: This is a non-classified leasure trip route, suitable for all people and all type of boats. General safety rules should be met, however, use of buoyancy aids is mandatory.

Three day route for nonbelievers, that there is nothing to do in river Abava above Kandava. May be this not a blunt truth, but almost is. Slope of the river in stage from Pure to Kandava is satisfactory, but landscape is miserable – river flows zigzag through meadows and there is nothing to see from the boat.

If someone has persuaded you to go by inflatable boat your patience will surely end near Kandava and your trip too.

From Kandava to Renda is a good two days route.

If your desire to explore pristine areas is insuperable, we recommend to start in Irlava river after checking out if water level is high enough. In spring paddling Irlava can turn into sportive and interesting action.

Transportation and reach of the route: This is one of the most civilized routes in Kurzeme, a few kilometers from the highroad can be reached all through the route, hence you can end your trip whenever unexpected obstacles occur.
