Complexity: This is a non-classified leasure trip route, suitable for all people and all type of boats. General safety rules should be met, however, use of buoyancy aids is mandatory.
A single day route on lower Gauja`s fastest stretch. On this route you definitely get a lot to see, from the boat as well as getting of the boat on the bank. For taking this route you get rewarded with beautiful scenery.
The river flows a little slower in the beginning of the route, just right for you to become familiar with your ride- the canoe boat. This route on its whole length goes thru Gauja national park, so it’sa good idea to follow the park rulles.
If you have some time left, its worth to visit the Līgatne wildlife park.
Getting to and away from the river:
Its not like you will find a public buss or train that brings you directly to the river, but its not that far away, if you don’t go with your own transport its smart to check the buss un train schedules so you don’t have to stay for the next morning.
