Mērnieki - Vecsalaca

Complexity: This is a non-classified leisure trip route, suitable for all people and all type of boats. General safety rules should be met; however, use of buoyancy aids is mandatory.

This is a spring route. Of course you can do this route in summer, but in summer you rarely go on one day trips, because of this we recommend Staicele - Vecsalaca or Limšēni - Vecsalaca. 

From Mērnieki begins an interesting part of the river with the slope of the river 1m/km. Already from the dam the stream becomes faster, bigger or smaller rapids are in every second turn of the river. In high water no boredom here.
